Diamond Tennis Bracelets

Many people enjoy wearing jewelry, even while playing sports. For most people it is not a problem to diamond tennis bracelets, bracelets or necklaces while playing tennis, or badminton, squash or when golfing for example. But it is not always safe to wear jewelry, and it depends mainly on the type of sport you are playing whether you should or should not wear jewelry. If you like to wear bracelets while engaging in sports, you might want to look into what is now termed the tennis bracelet. It used to be called the inline bracelet, however when Chris Evert stopped her tennis match during the 1987 US Open Tournament to pick up the pieces of her broken inline bracelet, it quickly became known as the 'tennis bracelet'. Naturally, there was also quite a resurgence in interest of this particular style of bracelet as well.

Tennis bracelets are designed to fit close against the wrist and they generally do not have any charms or chains dangling from the antique diamond rings. Rather, the bracelet is set with precious or semi-precious stones, which are inlaid in the metal and are flat against the surface. Favorite stones for this type of bracelet were traditionally diamonds, as they would sparkle and catch the light beautifully when worn in this way. A more common and much cheaper version of the tennis bracelet now sports cubic zirconium stones rather than diamonds, and to the untrained eye it is very difficult to tell that they are not real diamonds.

Of course tennis bracelets aren't recommended for any contact sports, but for the average non-contact sport they should be fine to wear. You may want to invest in a safety chain, though, if you are going to be wearing them while playing some sport, as the snap is usually the first thing to give way with a tennis bracelet. It is also a good idea to keep an eye on the snap as they do become worn and it would be best to replace it before it becomes worn to the point that it is coming undone frequently. It may also be best not to wear your diamond tennis bracelet, if you are fortunate to own one, while playing sport. Instead you should invest in a cubic zirconium tennis bracelet, as that would cost much less to replace should anything happen to trillion cut diamond.
